Occasionally, I go to my actual tumblr page and listen to the playlist in full. In fact, I’m doing just that right now.

As a filmmaker, I don’t put as much stock into the Academy Awards being the pinnacle of reverence. Hollywood is its own political system, and I don’t generally trust politicians. Although part of this system, I feel the prestige of receiving a guild award should outweigh that of an Oscar. After all, those awards are given by the people who understand the job most.
